Mechanism Of Action
Amoxicillin shows its action by binding the specific penicillin binding protein present inside the cell wall of the bacteria and prevent the cross- linking of the NAM and NAG by inhibiting the peptidoglycan synthetase.
Pharmacokinetics
Absorption: It is absorbed orally.
Protein binding: It is 17% bound to plasma proteins.
Metabolism: Amoxicillin undergoes hydroxylation and deamination.
