It blocks the action of chemical messengers in your body that causes pain and swelling.
It is usually given in cases where oral administration is unsuitable.
Indications
Indicated in treating musculoskeletal disorders, acute gout, pain after operative intervention following acute trauma, and primary dysmenorrhea (12 years or older).
Mechanism of action
This injection exerts its anti-inflammatory actions by inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase-1, thereby, blocking the release of prostaglandins (a substance produced during injury and inflammation that causes pain and swelling) and other chemical mediators that cause pain and swelling.
Drug Interactions
● Aspirin, acetylsalicylic acid, or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for pain relief
● Anticoagulants such as warfarin, and heparin (a medicine used to prevent blood clots)
● Antacids such as warfarin, and heparin (a medicine used to prevent blood clots)
● Corticosteroids like prednisolone (medicines used to treat a variety of conditions such as allergies and hormone imbalance)
Side Effects
● Signs of gastric perforation and ulceration like burning sensation, severe stomach pain
● Diarrhea
● Constipation

● Flatulence
● Stomatitis (painful mouth ulcers)

Precautions & Warning
● If you are pregnant, trying to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding, consult your doctor before receiving this medicine
● Have stomach or intestinal ulcer, bleeding, or perforation
● Have peri-operative pain in the setting of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery
● If you have a kidney or liver problems
● Keep out of reach of the children
Give a warning, caution, and storage as on the label.
Dosage
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Calcium dobesilate may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends.
Missed Dose:
If you miss a dose of the Calcium dobesilate capsule, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Overdosage:
A small overdose is no cause for concern. In case of an intentional large overdose, seek emergency medical attention.
Contraindications:
